Production Mode is a very simple interface designed for use in production environments, where a repeating set of well-defined tasks are to be performed. In production mode, an operator cannot create or change parameter files or other system configuration files: they can only use them to run applications.
How to enter Production Mode
To be in production mode, either:
#	The default mode in ODIS_CONFIG.xml must be “production”
#	A user with Production-only privileges (e.g. an “Operator”) must be logged into ODIS.

In production mode, an extremely restricted view of the system is visible. Users are not able to save or alter parameter files, and the number of features is limited.

See Also: ODIS User Management.

Configuring Production Mode
Configuration is managed through an XML file stored in the Application directory called ODIS_Production.xml. This file determines the setup of fields, button configuration, colors, actions for Production Mode.

Buttons can be configured to do may tasks, such as:
*	Load a parameter file
*	Load a collection
*	Save a collection
*	Move to a position
*	Start, Pause, and Stop a Scan
*	Toggle images views
*	Enable or disable image updating
* Switch among Operator Logins
* Automatically Analyze collections

In addition, a number of user-enterable fields can be added to the top of the screen. These fields will be stored with the scan data, and can also be used as part of the saved filename, and or prevent collection if a field is not set before scanning.

For details on how to make configuration changes, see the documentation of ODIS_Production.xml.
Using Production Mode
When configured, The operator sees a series of buttons on the left side of the screen, and one or more field entries at the top of the screen. to start the Production system, the "Start" button at the top of the screen is pressed.

Depending on the configuration, the operator performs his tasks by pressing the buttons and/or making entries in the user input fields at the top of the screen. When the operator has finished his tasks, he presses the "Stop" button at the bottom of the screen. This will reset Production mode.
