Advanced Mode
Advanced Mode allows for complete control of all sub-sections of the ODIS software. It also has many more options for scanning, including Rotational scans, Contour Following, and Beam Profiles.
Using Advanced Mode
In order to use Advanced Mode, either:
- The system configuration Mode key must be set to normal. This will load the Basic Mode as the default unless the default login mode has been changed.
- A use with the mode set to "Advanced" must login (See the Security Manager).
Advanced Mode Controls
In Advanced Mode, each subsection has a separate control form. To access controls, press the buttons on the left side of the screen. Some forms will be duplicated if there is more than one device (e.g. one Pulser/Receiver control form will appear for every detected digital Pulser/Receiver)
Toolbar Buttons
The buttons on the left side of the main window open and close the various control forms. If a control form is not available, pressing on the button will do nothing.
From top to bottom, the control buttons are:
- Digial Oscilloscope
- Motion Control
- Scan Manager
- Pulser/Receiver Controls
- Session Information
- Point and Collect (Note: this mode is obsolete and will be removed in a future release)
- Live Video
Digital Oscilloscope
The Digital Oscilloscope is identical to the setup found in Advanced mode, with the exception that the A/D and Gates are set in the Instrument Tab on the main Setup window.
Motion Control
The motor control window is used to display position information and manually move axes. The system can be reinitialized and Home positions can be set as well.
Scan Manager
The Scan Manager form contains the controls for configuration scans. The possible scan modes are:
- Linear
- Tray
- Rotational (NDT Only)
- Beam Profile
- Megaboard
- Point
- Timed
In addition, in ODIS-NDT, Linear and Rotational scans can be complemented with complex Contour Following on two or more axes.
An Options page sets certain global scan options (trigger modes, disk caching, etc.
Pulser Control
More than one P/R form may appear if multiple pulser are present.
Note: In Advanced Mode, a Pulser is Not turned on by default. The user must turn on the pulser before operating the system.
