Megaboard
Megaboard allows a user to chain together a series of smaller scans into one large process. This is useful for scanning discrete portions of a part (e.g. all the chips on a printed circuit board). Megaboard will use previously generated parameter files to create the collection.
To create a Megaboard setup, move to the "Megaboard" tab on the Scan Manager window. At the left will be a list of all parameter files in the Parameters directory (as specified in OKOS_Config.xml). To add a parameter to the Megaboard, click on the right arrow to move it to the second window. The order of the files can be changed by right-clicking on any file in the list and moving it up or down.
Note: It is vital that all parameter files be generated from initialized systems, so that the relative start positions are correct. Otherwise, the scans will not occur at the correct positions.
The list of parameters for the Megaboard can be save using the "Save..." button on the "Megaboard" tab.
To run the Megaboard, press the "Start" button at the bottom of the ODIS screen. The scans will be run in the order specified. As each scan is run, a collection is created.
Since each scan is a separate parameter file, they can use completely different settings (including different types such as Linear or Tray Scans). However, it is not recommended to run scans of completely different hardware configurations (such as a Linear followed by a Rotational scan) due to the complexities of configuring the system to avoid possible collisions.
Megaboard in Basic Mode
To select Megaboard in Basic Mode, use the Scan Setup drop-down to select the "Megaboard" option. The interface at right will be shown.
In Basic Mode, Megaboard setup is simplified. The user can select from the list of parameter files and chose the ones to run just as in Advanced Mode. Sorting features are not available.
There are two additional options that can be enabled during Megaboard: Whether or not to Merge the resulting scans into one collection, and whether or not to lift the Focus axis when moving between scans. Both are located just below the Scan type selection drop-down.
